Actually, it is. The RCMP was paid to do forensic testing on airsoft guns to determine at what velocity they are capable of causing serious bodily injury. The findings indicated that 407 fps was the magic number at which point airsoft guns go from being replicas to air guns. CBSA will apparently respect this finding.

i read this in the FAC. And the 3rd Gen bolt claims to shoot 430 fps with .20 gram BB's so its considered a Air Rifle so i can bring it over ?

FPS limits differ from field to field.

In order to get a good airsoft gun for cheap, your best bet is to get age verified here and check out the classifieds section. There are a ton of great deals in there.

Do yourself a favor and read the FAQ section, seriously. First impressions will kill you here, especially in such a (for lack of a better word) "underground" sport.

Once your credibility is ruined here, you're completely fucked from participating in anything airsoft-related.

Take an hour and read the FAQ section.
Then, if you have an intelligent question, search to see if it's been asked.
If it still hasn't been asked, then post up a thread.

(PS: There are about 5 threads on the M324, a few of which were posted in the last week. I'm sure you can understand everyone's frustration).

yea i read those, but they didnt sound to convincing. And i dont think i will ever play on a 'actual field". Canada needs to lighten up on there Airgun / Airsoft laws. And i saw nothing in the FAQ about the 3rd Gen bolt for it, so i was curious. and if it actually shot 430 with .20 gram BBs then i should be fine right ?

We all agree that Canada should "lighten up". Trust me. If you're not convinced on the 1,000 threads on how importing laws won't allow airsoft guns, then go ahead and try it - let us know the results.

What do you mean "it should be fine if it shoots 430fps"? If you're not going to play at a sanctioned field, then I suppose you'll have to ask your friends if they mind getting hit with a plastic pellet travelling 430 feet per second. If they say no, then I guess you're SOL.

Ibby May 1st, 2007 20:08

No, you won't be fine. Customs doesn't read everything the RCMP labs puts out. They have a blanket procedure when dealing with incoming airsoft: seize and destroy. They don't care what fps it's running at. Parts and internals are a different matter for the most part. But anything gun looking, you're SOL.

carbonsniper May 1st, 2007 20:11

for there sake i wouldnt use the .20 i would use .25 or .28 if it actully shoots that fast with .20 then at around .25 or .28 i should be sitting at around 370-390. if im not correct please tell me. And if it still shoots that fast, my buddie deserves it anyways, he shot me with a 600 fps pellet rifle in the arm so.
revenge. but thats not why i want it

cadpat_tact May 1st, 2007 20:13

It sounds like you and your buddies are quite imature when it comes to handling weapons. Always treat airsoft or airguns as if they are actual firearms.

Just curious, what guns do your friends have?

Scooby Steve May 1st, 2007 20:13

Oh, you'll do well in Airsoft

carbonsniper May 1st, 2007 20:14

yea but RCMP over rules customs easy. and if they dont that there own problem maybe they should look up laws and regulations based on higher authority. seeing as it is the RCMP

Swing on down by your local RCMP and let them know what you think about it.

Oh, I forgot to mention....

If you're not playing at a sanctioned field, it's only a matter of time before you get caught with your weapons, probably charged, and further discredit this sport.

Why wouldn't you play at a sanctioned field? You're just playing with fire and not making a very intelligent decision about where you play.

No, im not, trust me im the last guy you wanna scre around with, when it comes to ANY rifle safty. I hunt wiht big bores, and go vermit hunting with my .223, .22 LR ect.

MY buddy is just an idiot, he shot me with a Crosman Spring Master .177 cal.

I'am responsible, but i cant control other people's actions.

My buddie has a m4. just basic, i think from classic army , i have never really looked.
my other buddy has just a little Crosman Stinger (upgraded but still not very good)
and my other buddie has a m14 by tokyo. But they are more it to the whole airsoft thing.
when i go i use my buddies m9 gas blow back from maurzen i like it but im the sniping type =).

I'm assuming these friends are the people you'll be playing airsoft with?

If you get caught, you'll be equally as guilty by association in the eyes of the law playing airsoft (considering you'll have a replica in public as well if you're playing with them).

Also, you'll be held accountable here as well. If I were you, I'd just stop here.

cadpat_tact May 1st, 2007 20:19

Go ahead and be convinced by the RCMP guidelines, but when it somes to CBSA they will not take the time to read up on it.

Nobody here is trying to convince you; if you want you could stfu, order the gun, and see what happens. Don't start another thread about how you hate how the CBSA confiscates your fake guns, people here know better from experience and you thought otherwise.

Thank you and good luck.
