The TF16 is a plastic piece of garbage that I bought at basspro as well. Pieces already broke off when I took it out of the box..I quickly returned it to get a kraken which is like night and day compared to the TF16..metal and ABS body, shoots roughly 370fps right out of the box and is TM compatible. So take it from me, don't waste your money on the TF16. But like the other guys said, just plink it in your basement until your 18 and don't bring it outside. Hope this helps.

I've personally handled the Kraken AK and was impressed with the value. It might even be something I'll look into getting, myself!

(With a metal body and real wood grips ordered shortly thereafter, of course!)

thanks for the help in my decision, i went with the kranken btw, but only bad thing i hear about it is the battery n some parts need replacing, anything i can do to make it last long n perform good?

i bought the kraken to learn on in how to maintenance the gun

i brought it to the gun clinic and was able to shim the gearbox and make some upgrades

several others had that gun

its decent , works and is a great start to the hobby until you can get a kwa or classic army

Easy answer, you don't. It's sorta like going to the dollar store, picking up a pack of their batteries and go I want to make these perform like a Duracell.

Good choice however. I got a Kraken for my friend to use for now as a loaner type of thing except chances are he'll pay me back in full for it :p and it shoots hard, seems durable and is relatively accurate. However, I believe there's a thread on ASC somewhere on upgrades you SHOULD do on a Kraken to make it game worthy. And I happened to have found it. I was told to stay VERY VERY far away from TF16's as I was told they were useless except for maybe even parts if I really needed them although my initial opinion on them was that they weren't bad.

You can put in a better battery but for the most part there isn't that much wrong with it. I have several and loan them out all the time and you know people are when they didn't buy it. Haven't had any problems yet. Just make sure you take care of it by cleaning and lube. I've found the Kraken to be quite sturdy and reliable with the but plate probably being it's biggest weakness. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't drop the thing at the first sign of trouble or you don't but stroke anyone. Niether are a normal part of play.
