Username change

Hey i was wondering about changing my username and if an admin would allow me to. I'm new to this site, if you could help itd be greatly appreciated.
Im interested in changing it too 'Strychnine'

Thank you, Jesse.

Mm, since you have exactly 2 posts and absolutely no-one knows who you are, you could just create an new account and let the old one die? Just don't use both at the same time, since that isn't allowed wait the mentioned name change charity.

As for a real name change, it isn't allowed, and admins will not do it.

However, you could donate to a charity event last year, and get your name changed. Maybe that will come back this year.

Thank you for replying. I guess ill have to make a second account.

Creature March 17th, 2014 20:20

Ive read them, all i want to do is change my name. Why is it not allowed? I want to do that or delete this account

jordan7831 March 17th, 2014 20:25

We occasionally run name change threads. When we do this there is a $10 fee from which we donate to the wounded warriors charity.

bean March 17th, 2014 20:26

Because it's a pain in the ass to change 3lit3-$nip3r666's account name because he put no thought into it. So once a year I run a charity drive to raise money for Wounded Warrior Canada and we get off our asses to do your names.

Cobrajr122 March 17th, 2014 20:30

People were asking for it far to frequently, some users had their name changed multiple times. The staff grew tired of the frequent requests and decided that if you made a poor choice in name, you can pay to fix it.

Once or twice a year we hold fundraisers for wounded warrior, you can donate through us at those times to get your name changed, custom user titles, and maybe more next time around.
So far it has been a great success and 100% of it goes to wounded warrior, an amazing cause.

Creature March 17th, 2014 20:30

then where can i delete my account so i can create another without violating anything?

Creature March 17th, 2014 20:32

then why wouldnt you allow only one name change?

SuperCriollo March 17th, 2014 20:50

Yours isn't to bad, I've yet to meet the first person who can pronounce mine properly :D

Stop complaining and stick to the rules

Creature March 17th, 2014 20:53

i just wanted it the same as my callsign (Strychnine) but whatever forget it.

You pronounce it SuperCriolli or something?

SuperCriollo March 17th, 2014 21:42

:(

The double LL is supposed to sound as "Y" in "yellow", So something like "SuperCrio-"yoh"

But yeah, putting non existent Spanish syllables in forum frequented by English speakers was indeed a bad idea :P

pusangani March 17th, 2014 23:24

ยก Jajajajaja !

Danke March 17th, 2014 23:48

I got some names if you guys can't figure out what your new ones should be.

Some good, some appropriate.

Xhausted March 17th, 2014 23:50

Never understood why a username meant so much... just create some art and let it be in there.

Although mine matches my art, my name could be anything... GET CREATIVE!

Some people feel like they need to keep their username hip, cool and relevant to how their life changes. In the last few years I'd be 100% changing for changing my username to something else (I have a few "cooler" ideas in mind) but I figured it'd be best to keep it.

The whole "not changing names thing" serves two purposes here, I imagine

1) Your forum handle in the ASC Community is useless, and it's the name you make for yourself that really matters.

2) Sometimes people throw hilarious / childish tantrums over something as superficial as a name change - it serves as a warning beacon to the community to keep an eye on this guy.

One thing I like about ASC, with your static names and Age Verification (preventing multiple accounts) is it gives accountability to people. The more Anonymous someone is the less consequences they perceive from their actions; which is something that is not cool when peoples safety is always on the line.

Oh and people bugged the Admins all the time. That is probably the only reason that matters :P

Wow! Thanks for such a details response. I can safely say I know why people have issues with usernames. I never even thought about the safety factor you brought up. That makes complete sense. Someone can totally ruin a name and then do a "quick" switch and unless someone pays attention, can run rampant again!

lurkingknight March 18th, 2014 10:09

people tend to call me lurking rather than knight... which is weird because it's an adjective portion of the name not the noun... but meh. There's a long story how it went from the original to the way it is now.. and there some irony behind it... but meh.

I've previously thought about changing it back to what I originally used on other forums, but at this point, meh.

I go to games, I shoot people, I get shot.

The name doesn't do much to dissuade those actions.

pusangani March 18th, 2014 12:22

I made up my name on a whim, I use the callsign pus or puss for games so I'd change it to pus for the forums if I could

K3vX March 18th, 2014 12:26

I chose my name far far back in time, and I'm too lazy to change it, even if it's terrible.

Maybe one day..

Kokanee March 18th, 2014 13:02

I think creature's name should be changed to "lazy susan" or "negative nancy"

hattrick March 18th, 2014 13:11

I'm surprised I haven't got a clever user title for my asshead of an attitude over the years...Though that may explain the bi-monthly bans..
