I was wondering if this sniper would be a good choise for a ex-aeg user who wanted to start sniping. Would this be too fast of a weapon. Is it upgradeable and will it serve me well.

Start by doing some research and reading the Information section of these forums. There is a LOT of important information you MUST know in there before you think about anything else.

Thanks for the info guys but the one thing I am still wondering about is if 430fps with .25 bb's is to fast. Not for official matches buy for friendly matches.

I thought all airsoft matches were friendly matches.

In game the FPS for guns is usually set and regulated by the person who is running the game.

If 430 is too fast with a .25, use a .3 or higher. The fps will drop and you'll be more accurate in theory.

Velocities are normally tested with .20

From what I've read it might be compatible with Maruzen APSII parts, so it may very well be tweakable.

Just make sure the fps doesn't go over the limits at your local field as its over 450fps.

Why the hell would you put a tracer unit on a sniper rifle? Are you an idiot? The point of sniping it to NOT be seen, not have a path drawn right to you.

alright, so maybe a tracer unit isnt the best idea. but i would like to get a silencer for it at some point. im suprised to hear so many people are interested in this gun.

because airsplat is an american company. all guns are cheaper in the states cause they dont have all the red tape that we do. the sad part is, you CANT import from anywhere. you can only buy airsoft within canada so ONLY from canadian retailers.

I've got one of these things... I just ordered a bunch of Maruzen APS-2 L96 parts... I'll tell ya' if it works.

I can say already that the gun WILL work with the maruzen silencer adaptors.

you cant import silencers, they are restricted items. since airsoft silencers actually make your gun quieter, it will be confiscated and you blacklisted.

I know why they aren't allowed to be imported because they are illegal. But i don't see how a silencer is any more harmful than any thing else... I wont even bother trying to explain myself...

I would prefer if they took the nail gun and held it tight to their temples instead.

If I had a buck everytime someone wanted to save a buck when it came to airsoft, I would have enough money to buy a really fancy bat I could hit them with everytime they asked something stupid like whats posted above.

For all customs knows you could buy an airsoft silencer and throw it on your real steel and it'd work perfectly.

It's a shame making your own silencer is punishable by jail time.. I really don't wanna be charged double for that L96 silencer.

Lordco, Napa, whoever else sells nitrous kits. They're perfectly legal to sell, but you can't install one in your Chevette and do 6 second stints from light to light in the city.
