Wetti Awss Scar
My latest addition to collection:
WETTI AWSS SCAR - Propane/CO2 version ***WE PMAG conversion has been completed*** http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR029.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR003.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR020.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR007.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR013.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR015.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR016.jpg |
Black one....looks sweet...
I'll wait and see on the VFC ones.....maybe with the DMR version.... |
Looking good! Im still waiting on mine to show up.... :(
|
Hey Kev... any chance you can get me a good picture of places where these things could use a thin recoil bumper?

Sweet...it's about the only rifle that I like seeing in its tan version.
I haven't handled a lot of AEG SCARS...if you have, is the stock less bulbous-"dolphin-tail" like than the AEG versions? If you turn your lower receiver upside down...does the bolt release lever&housing fall out? Griffin and I were test fitting mags into his just his lower and couldn't figure out why the engagement angles between the nub on the mag and the bottom of the lever arm...then we noticed that the assembly had be pushed up out of position. Really liking the simplicity of the whole thing. Can't wait to see the WE KAC PDW GBBR...so far the prototypes of the bolt assembly looks more SCAR-ish than M4-ish. Tys |

WE SCAR
Here is what I think is causing all the broken stock hinge plates (part #66): ***NO...mine has NOT broken!*** This is the plastic stock hinge plate (#66) - notice the faint vertical lines to the left & right...this is where the recoil rod assembly slams into when the gun is fired. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR036.jpg This is the end of the recoil rod assembly. It sits flush with the end of the receiver so the plastic stock hinge plate can slide over. I know some guys are saying to put a piece of rubber/neoprene between the end of the rod to act as a buffer but I think it would only be a temporary fix! http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR031.jpg Upper receiver: Here you can see the bolt (#53) on the left and the recoil spring/rod assembly on the right. Just from my first few shots I knew right away that this guns recoil is way too hard. There is way too much "metal on metal" when it recoils. I believe that the recoil spring is too weak and the bolt is too heavy = BROKEN STOCK HINGE PLATE (#66) http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR030.jpg Bolt (#53) & recoil rod & spring assembly: Somehow a buffer needs to be installed between these two parts. This would lessen the shock transferred to the hinge plate. A CNC metal hinge plate would solve this problem and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before that happens! http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR033.jpg Bolt (#53) - This is the face of the bolt where it slams into the recoil rod...this thing is HEAVY! http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c.../WESCAR034.jpg |
Guess what came in the mail today!
http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6325/img4158i.jpg WETTI AWSS SCAR-L TAN Added a Hurricane 553 in tan and a Tango down stubby QD grip. |
Very nice, Bro !
|
wich type of pistol grip would fit on those GBBr? RS or AEG pistol grip....?
PS: I read you were working on a PMag conversion.... there's a guy on Gasgun info that already dide it, and shows how to do it.... ;) http://gasguns.info/forum/viewtopic....=1435&start=20 |
RS M4 grips fit the WE SCAR just fine. You can see from my pics above that I have the Hogue Monogrip AR-15 grip on it and she fits like a glove!
PMags are much easier to mod for the WE mags than for the Systema PTW... |
cool thx!
you were complaining about the bolt beeing too heavy on the WE Scar,.... and guess what I just found on WGC, a Bomber brand CNC aluminium bolt for the Scar! |
Got mine yesterday in black. Very nice. FPS is kind of low compared to my WE M4 which is way hot! (560-70 fps)
But RA has their adjustable valve sets which will fix both! GBB rule! (well sort of lol) |
|
hey kev have i told you that i hate you with a passion :p j/k
that is one sexy piece of hardware! |

Those rifles are sexy!
I can't wait to see how good they perform in the long run and in low temperature. |
woot is this the master thread for all SCARs? Can't believe I didn't see it before starting my own.
Here's mine so far... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3142/...8e087805_o.jpg have gone through about 10~15 mags so far... all components still look brand new. :) I'm getting about 2 ~ 2.5 mags worth of shooting per gas fill - not too bad at all! |
I had a similar experience with mag fills. About 2-1 fro fills. Also, I made a small "sorbo-pad" for the recoil plate which seems to dampen the shock on the hinge plate. Hopefully this will help lessen the chance of a broken hinge plate.
I will keep you posted..... |
^^^ can you take a picture of said pad, please? Just curious to see what it looks like.
The problem with the broken/cracked hinge plate seems to happen mostly to people that run CO2 mags. Green Gas/propane people don't seem to have that issue... |

I can't believe I missed this.
I saw your post in the GGI forums, and I'm jealous. LOL Great work man - I'll have to try and get some off you one day! Btw - what did you use to sand/file out the inside of the PMAG? Just a regular old file? |
A PMag master does not tell any of his secrets...:p
I'll be at XT starting in November when Terror Tuesdays begin...I will show you in person if you're around. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c...M4PMags025.jpg |
That's so sweet.
My mailbox still has lots of rooms for PMs if you're ever bored and want to jot down some how-to notes...:D |
WE internals won't fit into the PTS PMAGs?
|
Quote:
|
Now how do the converted PMAGs perform in terms of consumption and cool down of the gas? Is there any real difference in FPS or how many shots before needing a refill?

I want some of these sooo bad.
I just wish my SCAR had a trigger. LOL |
I must say these Co2 mags kick like a son-of-a-gun!
Getting them to fit the PMags correctly requires the use of a dremel...fits like a glove! http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c...M4PMags033.jpg |
I decided to do some testing with my WE SCAR this evening since the Leafs game is boring...they're actually winning!
I finally installed my RA-Tech NPAS with the LAT piston head (installed on stock nozzle guide rod). Shots were very consistent, and within +/-4 FPS of each other. The RA-Tech NPAS dialed in nicely but it's a little hard to adjust with the tool and it requires you to hold back the valve disc with a small flathead screwdriver. RA-Tech NPAS: http://www.ratech.com.tw/store/img/p/268-360-large.jpg LAT piston head: http://www.airsoftbuddy.com/member/5...7_IMG_0117.JPG NPAS installation & testing by RA-Tech: YouTube- RA TECH WE NPAS I also tried the LAT SS mag valve and it did increase velocity by +15-20 FPS. Where it failed was when it was tested on full auto, it dumped a lot a gas and the ROF actually seemed to slow down compared to the stock valve. This may be a part that someone might consider using if building a sniper platform, so long as it's used in semi-auto only! http://www.airsoftbuddy.com/member/5...4_IMG_0215.JPG |
Ok guys, I recently installed the TSC NPAS which broke after 10 rds. I ended up taking the adjustment wheel from the tsc and used it on the stock guide rod. Avoid it like the plague for now. I am awaiting a response from them but have heard nothing yet.
|
What part of the TCS setup broke? The nozzle? The valve? The rod/piston? The Adjustment wheel?
They're nozzles are Stainless Steel aren't they? Did it crumple with a misfeed? |

I also just got in the VFC EGLM and it's very nice. WGC had them for 126.00 (155.00 shipped to VA). Very well constructed and half the price of the Ares. Now if I can just figure out why I keep chopping bb's..... |
Quote:
What bb's are you using? First V1's hop-ups are shit.. lol |

Hitman, So far I have modded 4 WE to pmag and assisted my boss as he's modded some for his PTW. (PTW mags don't require as much sanding ) As far as ammo I've tried TSD bio & non bio, KSC and some Bioval. The gun itself is a gen III so no gen I hop-up. As soon as I can dial in the gun we will probably start carrying them. (We as in my employer www.airsoftcqb.com) |
Got the RA Tech NPAS and it is so much better than the TSC fiasco. +1 to the Folks at RA !
|
whats the name of the grid pad?where did u get that??

Hey guys,
What do you think about that color patern? I bought a used tan SCAR but I wanted a black one. Now I don't want to paint it all black because I don't want to loose the markings. |

I just might have to do that to mine! |
hey! If you have a black one, we could switch parts!!!

ha ha! got me there!
This one is very nice also... |
Hey BIG...while that is a very nice SCAR...it is not a WE....no one makes a short GBB mag for them yet..so.....
|
and its got the fat stock
|
probably a real steel then. But might be doable in airsoft version. minus the short mag of course :)

The lower isn't the problem, that one's black, he wants a black upper, but wants to keep the trades.

Bringing this thread back from the dead only because I got my SCAR last week. Nothing done to it yet other than a Magpul AFG.

Mine's in the mail. Can't wait to get it. The SCAR is about the only rifle I like in tan.
