Left handed? what do i buy?
Hi
as a left handed shot i find it really hard to find any AEGs for left handed people if any one can help me out?? |
SCAR/P90/AUG
Are all ambidextrous, those are the only ones I can think off the top of my head at the moment. You can get a Ambidextrous mag release for M4's as well. |
go get age verified and buy an aug or scar something with ambi feature

But, when you can get Age verified (in 3 years) Find an ambidexterity gun, and have at 'er |
Occupation

AK's are pretty ambi as far as the mag release goes. And if you have longer thumbs you can use it to change the fire selector.
M4 mag release isn't too far of a stretch either if you hold your supporting hand up to the mag-well, and your pointer-finger of your trigger hand to change the fire selector, is just a bit of a reach and pivot of the wrist. |
ahhh there you go wierd job to lie about thought.
yeah wait till your older kid |
Don't forget the freakin nice Ares Tavor... probably the best ambidextrous gun I have ever seen.
|
Does it matter? It's not like you'll have shells flying out to your face.
|
Thompson's actually pretty good for lefties.
Any AR variants aren't awful... just a bit harder than being right handed, but by no means difficult. |
everyone has forgotten the g36, beautiful ambi gun. and the masada/acr is ambi as well
|
HK in general are ambidextrous (except for the HK416)....
|

G36 and other HK's can go ambi as well *edit<-- past 2 posts were all posting this at the same time ;) |
AK's wouldn't be bad either I don't think, the mag release is right in the middle.
|
G36 = Win.
|
Ambidextrous magazine releases are available for armalites as well.
|
I'm a lefty and I can use pretty much anything just fine...
No shells flying @ your face works... I can still manipulate the selector just fine with my left thumb on an M4 and I can easily use my right thumb to drop mags as I insert a new one (New mag in right hand) |
For AEG MP5 are ambidex. If you use the mag release like an AK. However, the select fire switch usually break easily on the right side (IMO and MY experience). You don't need to pull the bolt so it's ambidex.
And really, do you really think you're going to play with a 'Real handicap' other than a pistol for fast reload (slide catch) any AEG work fine as soon as you pull the trigger. ;) Your question sound a bit too fast without a bit of research. I'm right ? Edit : Hope it's not too cold. and sorry i'm french ! |
No one mentioned an AK/AK variant?
One of the only commonly used guns I see a lefty having an issue with is the L85 because of the location of the mag catch. |

In a typical game you will be switching from left to right anyway. You don't really have to worry about casings and gas because it's Airsoft. In real life, a bullpup that ejects below or near the muzzle would be ideal, or a left handed carbine. Just my opinion........god bless opinions. |
The following have an Ambi mag release
Rifles/DMR: G36 (any variant) G3 and any of its variants M14 SMGs: MP7 MP5 P90 UMP Pistols: USP |
SiGs have ambidextrous safeties and mag catches, but I had to be original with the sling mounts
|
i personnaly think , AUG does not work very well with left handed.
|
Learn to shoot with both hands, you south paw. D:

I don't see the problem.
Airsoft guns will not eject hot brass into your face, and the only time my gun goes into "safe mode" is when I am in the "safe zone", therefore no worries about surprise engagements. |
i am a left handed shot and i dont have any problem with my ics m4, i actually prefer it the way it is. I hold grip with left hand and push button with right.
|
In all honesty I think all players should learn to shoot with both hands. Most often people who try to shoot right handed and around a right hand turn will expose too much of their body and get hit. It is also a must for cqb... If you want to be effective.

On my full-stock MP5, the stock sling attach point is on the wrong side. So I will have to mod a sling to fit my purpose, because all attachements are made for righties. We can easily compensate, living in a predominant right-handed world has made us south paws extremely adaptative, but having it our way without requiring modifications once in a while would be nice. |
Get whatever gun you want to get, and practice. There are tons of left handed shooters out there that don't use ambidextrous weapons.
|
Being a left handed shooter, i've just learnt to deal with it. There are no "left handed" airsoft guns. (japanese people are racist)
- thats right we're a RACE. |
Totally a Race.

I used to have a G36 and When playing I constantly switched hands based on my position in relation to the cover I was near, so you should try to make off hand shooting natural too, that will help with using alot of weapons that only work well right handed
|
If I were a lefty id be picking up the Magpul PTS ACR.

Shooting off hand keeping as much as you can behind cover is a great thing, learning to shoot off hand is such a bitch though hahah. |
I'm a rightie but bless/curse with cross dominance. I shoot long arms with my left and sidearms with my right.
Sticking with Armalite, you can choose the DBoys (cheaper) or VFC (expensive) PDW. They're both ambies. If you happen to like long barrels, you can either get the complete KA SR16-e3 or just get the receiver. Those are hot. Being an AEG, you'll most probably only needs the ambi mag release, which you can choose from G&P to Dboys aftermarket. For fire mode selection, well you can try to shoot like Travis Haley and Chris Costa during their support side transition (grip position like a rightie's support hand placement when shooting thumb forward style on sidearm). Sometimes it's those finer details that makes lefties felt left out. For example would be the swivel positions. Again, AEGs like KA's SR16 has QD mounts on both sides. Venturing into other makes, you'll have more options. Both MP5 and G36 is pretty ambies. AK deserve special mentioning, as they're the only one (in AS world atleast) that have folding stocks to the left. |
My tokyo Marui mp7 is a wonderful gun upgraded and can do with left handers,
my best friend is a lefty. Safety, mag release, sling mounts, selector switch on each side. But hop up is on the right side. Its a wonderful gun for any mission, mine has been upgraded to shoot 350 fps ranges of 225 + feet. so if you do it right way to go you got your self a amazing left gun. - Airsoftchilliwack |

To add something constructive, as a lefty you will LOVE using the L85 ; p |
well you never know if a person who still is looking for a lefty gun is going to look at this thread.
just trying to help out =p -Joe |
You can ambi out GBBR M4s quite easily, too.
This thread dates back to 2009; there's a lot of stuff on the market now which wasn't available back then. |
Use the next 3 years to learn to use the right hand, then get aige verrified and buy what ever u can afford

All I did was throw an ambi king arms mag release on my CA. That's the only thing I really needed. Sure the ambi selector switch would be nice but I just hated having to reach across the magwell to strip the magazine out.
|
VFC SR16 E3 IWS is also ambi
|
Anything. They don't eject shells.
I'm a lefty too... Never had a "I CANT USE THIS GUN LEFT HANDED" moment M4's = Mag in right hand, hit release with right thumb, pull mag out, put mag in |
C-TAC has some ambi M4's and M16's...(though sadly its mag release only, and not a "true" canadian C7/C8 replicas)
