High Pressure Air (HPA) for GBB
 

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with HPA systems like this one:

I was thinking of using it to plug into the bottom on my pistol mag at Green Gas pressure (150psi), so that I don't have to use propane indoors for target practice.

If you want to install it on all your mags, and switch it out when switching mags, or only be able to shoot 1 mag of bb's before reloading...go for it.

A one mag setup for home use would be fine. Of course, I'd want to change it for different guns later on...

I've looked into it. It still seems very expensive to start. And unless you play at paintball fields good luck finding a way to fill.

A few people on this forum have done it to their GBBR's and AFAIK, lesser few to their pistols.

If you really want to do it for at home shooting, why not? Go nuts. Your local CT should be able to fill your tank, no idea on the cost though.

It will give you better shot-to-shot consistency as well.

Now I'm carious to how you would get it to work. Do you just tap a hole in the mag, toss in an adapter to the connecter to the air-rig and wa~la? Because I have a paintball setup and would love to give that a go.

Ratech has all you need to do this.

My first thought is how do you oil it?

You would not need to oil the air. The only reason you oil propane is because it dries o rings.

What about oiling CO2?

C02 also dries out o rings a bit, but no where near the level of propane.

So how would I lubricate with my CO2 NBB pistol?

That's not bad of a price for a regulator.

The fittings that thread into your GBB pistol magazines are expensive, albeit you could just drill and tap your magazines but then you can't go back.

I was building a rig for several magazines but I lost interest and sold the fittings to a local shop so they could use it to allow customers to test out GBBs and GBBRs without breaking the bank using Green Gas all the time.

You only need to use silicone oil on your GBB to keep the internals lubed up. HPA is clean, much more consistent than regular propane/green gas but 120PSI is enough anything more you may risk damaging your gun.

The fittings are expensive once you factor in exchange, shipping etc...

I have a bunch of them to convert my m500 and g18c. Tapping was out of the question as I'd like to be able to go back to using propane. (eg. when all my CO2 and HPA tanks are empty and no time to go fill)

Still need to get the g18c up and running and 6mm to 4mm slip fit adapters.
