Winter gloves

What's the main type people use of do you use them?

For airsoft or general usage ? I've used my Black Diamond gloves for years during the cold season and never had a problem.

Airsoftwise, I don't use gloves since I rarely play in the winter.

If the temperature gets so low that you need to wear winter gloves, your airsoft guns won't be functional anyway. It varies plus or minus a few degrees, but the freezing point is about the operational limit of your guns.

I've been meaning to get Black Diamond gloves too, but for general use.

I'd say you can play in colder weather for sure. As long as you aren't running a gas gun of course. Just put a hand warmer around the battery to keep it from getting too cold.

To the OP, the only hard part about playing in cold weather with insulated gloves is getting your finger inside the trigger guard.

I've used my VFC HK416 in -15 degree weather and it's fired fine. The other rifles around were mostly failing from their batteries, and or from them being Co2 powered. I use Lipo's and it's good to go.

Insulated work gloves are a solid choice

I have a pair of Dakota work gloves I picked up a couple of years ago.. Thinsulate and sure grip palm.

when it's really cold I go for my neoprene gloves I used to wear for winter riding. they will make your hands warm and toasty even down to -15

I also have a pair of hunting mittens with a polyester glove liner. the palm is split so you can poke the hand out to do fine work and there is a sewn in handwarmer pouch. these are great for very cold situations where exposed skin will stick to steel.

once it's down to -8 or so all three options go with me.

Well guy I've looked over your ideas and I think it's going to be the work gloves. I've got big hands and I'm worried about fit at least I can go to mark's work warehouse to try them on first. Thanks guys :)

The colder it gets the more brittle the plastic parts in your gun will be. The gun might function through the whole winter, but there is a greater chance that something like the tappet plate will break.

That said, I have some nice Damascus gloves. They are durable (kevlar and leather palm) with a neoprene back. They keep your hands pretty warm and dry and have just enough dexterity to still work the gun.

What? This is completely untrue. It's not even difficult to find adequate o-rings or buckings that can function in very very very cold temperatures (effectively colder than what humans can take). Winter airsoft is a reality in many northern european countries, cold parts of the USA, Quebec, and here in Ontario... Also, dude, aren't you from Manitoba? :) :)
