Safariland 6004 holster

Does anybody know how securely the 6004 holster that is designed for a beretta 92 with tac light would hold the same gun without the light? :???:
I mean the beretta 92 brig with the lower rail, just no light.

No experience with Berettas, but a few guys on our team run Glocks without tac lights in 6004s that are disigned for use with a light. No problems with them.

I bought the 6004 for bereta with tac light by accident at first, it will not hold the pistol in securely if you do not have a tac light on it.

~nods~ ok, thank you for the help. Did you get a tac light put on the beretta after getting the holster? or sell the holster and go for something different

Iceman August 18th, 2005 18:02

You won't see a difference between the two, as the secure system doesn't lock on the flashlight but on the gun itself.

Yar, multiple answers, I think I am probably wrong, since both rexter and iceman have different results, and since I can not test it now as I sold the holster a while back.

Ya, like I said tho Yuxi, it worked fine with the Glocks, might be different with the M9.

SOC Rig

If your looking for a holster that can hold your M92 w/ and w/o the light you might want to look into G-Code's SOC Rig rather then the 6004.

I'm just sayin' is all, but the online buzz around this rig has been that it's fairly prone to failure.

Spudd August 20th, 2005 23:21

ok, Well failure is not something I really want to look forwards to having. My drop thigh holster has had it. It slops around way too much and isn't very secure for running around. Thats why I was loooking into a better retention system, I guess a fobus molded holster may be the way to get and mount it to my belt rather than thigh. That way it is a formed retention that is desiged for the gun.

Spudd August 20th, 2005 23:38

How do you find the Mk.V works for you? any/much slop? or is it glued to your thigh? and how does it retain? fast draws/easy reholstering?

SOC Rig

I've too have read mixed reviews of the RIG but for the most part I think it might just be the odd one sold here and there with problem(s) and not with the whole SOC RIG line sold thus far. Granted this does not excuse G-Code for making a less then perfect working product but I have heard of other people who have sworn by the RIG and have no problems with it. Actually I heard G-Code is taking this back to the drawing board and redesigning it to remove the kinks in the product.

On a side note with the 6004 although there are less problems with it then the SOC Rig this rig too is not necessarily a flawless product and have seem some major alterations to the product to have it fit the firearm it was meant to have holstered as well as acidental releasing of the hood (Snags on clothing and other stuff)!!

If your looking for a Kydex holster you might also want to look into bladetech or sidearmour rather then Safariland...

oh my... perharps on holder models... but with the recent ones, there is no way this is possible. You really gotta push down the thumb break for the security to let go. There's also a Thumb guard preventing objects from reaching from other sides then from where the thumb is supposed to come from. I've jumped in vehicules, crawls in sand, rock and forest without ever worried about this. At first i was paranoid, always checking, but now... i don't even give it a though.
