Hey guys, i just bought a used TM S-system thats fully upgraded.

Also is a silencer that i had unscrewed for the picture.


Im satisfied how the gun looks. But the gun performs like shit i think.

The rate of fire is not even close to my brothers Classic Army M15A4 Carbine (STOCK).

And the distance is about the same as my brothers gun as well!

i just dont know what the deal is with the gun, with all these upgrades you would think it would be shooting faster and better than a Stock Classic Army gun. I contact the store where i bought it and plan to get a refund or a swap for another gun. im extremely unimpressed.

So what type of upgrades were done to your gun?

Well, by whats inside the box that i got with it ill try and list them

-Steel cylinder head
-CA Geat Set
-Guarder Bearings
-Guarder Air Seal
-Guarder Spring Guide with bearing
-What looks like a SP 120 Spring
-363mm Prometheus Barrel
And the Obvious battery upgrade.

How big is the battery? If the gear ratio is standard and you're running an 120m/s spring, it's going to take alot of current to get the motor driving that load. A 1700mah battery is not going to cut it.

As far as range goes, it's very subjective. The bb fired from you're brothers gun at 350fps vs. your's at 410ish fps are going to be very close as far as effective range goes. You may find that if you use a heavier weight bb that your gun will have nearly the same range as your brother's, but you will now have the ability to cut through foliage that he can't. That in itself is a good enough reason for a velocity upgrade.

I can't comment on the parts as you've listed them as too vague to be of any help.

I just dont feel good after spending $550 on a gun that dosent even seem better than my brothers $320 gun (Prices are in US).

Where did you buy it? If they are an honourable retailer, I'm sure they will do what is right to try to make you happy. That being said, used, upgraded guns can have issues due to the installation quality put into the upgrades. Parts are only as good as the guy installing them. Stock parts done well can have long and productive lives and expensive FTK's can be ruined by a hack.

But this is true for anything, from AEG's to cars.

If this is your first gun, maybe stock should be your goal. Complex and detailed upgrades can lead to problems that will need to be addressed and you'd hate to have learn about AEG's by constantly having to work on it. It would be so much simpler and enjoyable to just play with it and not fix it.

But then again, there may be nothing at all wrong with your gun and you just may not have the correct battery for it. It could be that simple.

What kind of battery are you exactly running? Whats the voltage and mAh?

its a 9.6v 1700 mAh

Like I thought. Try a large battery, maybe 3000mah or bigger and then see how your gun performs. You may be surprised.

i thought the mah was just how long the battery lasted? had no idea it upgraded performance.

You bet. Give one a try. You may find that you won't readily have a place to put one, but 204 Tactical has battery pouches that will hold a large battery and they have them in OD as well. It will take up as much room as your PEQ does now and you can still use the lower rail on the SIR.

thats ture mah does = battery life. but it also means each cell has more power to give up thus increasing the amount of power going to your motor.

try what mcguyver said and using a larger mah battery and then move on to storeage. battery baggs work and try a crane stock they work just as well and keeps the battery in a safer location.

Think of of this way. Energy is like water. You're trying to push that stored energy/water through a tube. A small battery pack is like a tube the size of a McDonald's straw. A large battery pack is like a tube the size of a fire hose. Which one is going to move more water, faster?

Bigger battery = better performance, generally. My large 8.4v 2400 can outrun my 9.6v 1700 mini in a ROF contest any day of the week on the same spring.

i always thought of it as the mah was the amount of water in the bucket and the voltage as the hole in the bottom. More water = more pressure

Great gun. Too bad it came with such a small power pack. And 500 given knowledge as to how much I know some spent on stock guns, and then looking at upgrades. I would say that gun is a steal. All ya need to do is get a good power pack for it.


Big tip never open gear box unless you have to.

On a side note i am surprised that little battery turned that spring over.
