KSC MK23 (HK) Or KSC G19

I've read the reviews on both of the guns, the glock seems more reliable and well built but I don't really like the look.

I like the look of the mk23 but I've read it isn't that reliable and needs to be upgraded to be used for anything other than displaying.

I would be using the pistol quite a bit and use propane for the gas, I really want the mk23 but I don't want to get it if it will crap out on me down the road. Upgrading could be done down the road to it when i get more money.

EDIT: I can also use the duster gas if possible
Any input from you ladies and gents it's much appreciated.

Thanks.

if you don't care for blowback. the tm mk23 is an extremely reliable and accurate shooter.

fps_boy June 22nd, 2007 01:45

I would like the blowback. Thanks though.

USP .45 Fullsize. 'nuff said.

(15,000 rounds through it, still fires like new)..

What company?

KSC :p Forgot to mention..

Stay away from the compact USPs. Triggers break alot easier with those..

underground June 22nd, 2007 01:50

i think the only companies that make the usp are ksc/kwa and hfc..i could be wrong. You won't go wrong with either ksc/kwa though

fps_boy June 22nd, 2007 01:57

So i was looking at A&A and it says -2 in stock for the KSC usp fullsize, does that mean they are back ordered or what. I'm thinkin arbies ... .. I mean mk23.

dontask June 22nd, 2007 01:58

kjw makes one with a metal slide too
no trades though

You cannot really say either is reliable, KSC released numerous versions of the MK23, fixing issues and making the gun into a really authentic replica of the real thing.
Glock, the only good thing about it, is that parts are widely available, because everyone seems to have one.

One of my buddies that I play with has a KSC MK23, used and abused for 3 years, its painted tan.. which is rlly cool, not a single problem. He has an upgraded tightbore barrel which shoots more accurate than any stock sniper rifle.

Besides that sizes of the 19 and the MK23, well the difference is massive, one is a secret service pistol, not even cops use it. They use 17s.

The other is an offensive military handgun designed for SEAL use.

I mean, even God carries a SOCOM.

Fact.

(But only when he leaves his 1911 at home ;) )

Shinjin_MC June 22nd, 2007 03:33

part 66 is the notorious weak point on all socom versions
it will have to be replaced; good news is, guarder makes a spring set which includes recoil, hammer, as well as a reinforced #66

socom in HW is FAR superior to socom in ABS in terms of feel and weight
the moment you pick up HW, you wont even want to look at the ABS ver

more authentic replica is the first version, not the 2005 ver
it replicates the two-stage recoil spring assembly
2005 version uses a regular single spring like most gbbs and Ive heard reports of the recoil blowing the front part of the assembly out

g19 only holds 20 shots too, vs socom's 28, so its not bad as a sidearm, but you've gotta shoot damn straight if you want to primary it
socom sucks as a sidearm cause you will have this bigass piece of gun bouncing around on your thigh

SD makes beautiful (and expensive) CNC'd metal slide/barrel for mk23
I still miss mine
in terms of shooting experience, MK23...hands down
practical sidearm, G19

Oh and FPS_boy if you want to know what Upgraded FMU KSC Mk.23 kick like on propane I got it on my computer that I recorded when I had one before it was sold to Daniel and then to Shinjin and I'm not even sure who is the recent owner! I want it back! LOL

And since you're live in Prince George you can go ask Dave Horton from NIA how mighty it felt when he got to fire it :P
