WE 1911 - not releasing gas
Just got this new from boarder wars. Shot it off a few times right after I got it to test it out; put it in my holster and ran around for a few hours. After a while I got tired of my drop leg holster and returned it to my car. The gun was ever so slightly dirty.
I got home to test the gun again. Cock the hammer, pull the trigger, nothing happens. I referred to the user manual which claims the magazine may contain too much gas/pressure for the hammer to depress. Released some gas, still nothing. I removed the slide, clocked the hammer and fired. Poooffffffffffffffffft. The gas expelled. Hmm... strange. I located the part inside the mag well which the hammer actually hits, the 'firing pin' if you will. I noticed that if I pushed it till it was flush with the inside of the mag well, the gun will fire (with the slide on or off)... but only for a few shots. Furthermore, the gun seems to fire 90% of the time with the slide off and about 5% of the time with the slide on. This is a pretty random problem. I can't personally find any logic behind it. Will a stronger hammer spring fix this? Zi-Xiao P.S. I have this problem with multiple mags so it must be a problem with the gun. |

I don't have to push hard... however, the gas release valve doesn't push it in all the way. Should it? If so, what could the problem be?
|
The release valve should only go as far as it takes for that little C-clip to be roughly flush with the valve body.
Try taking the sear mechanism apart and reassembling it. If you're not familiar with the WE1911 insides, here's a guide: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forum...pic=93398&st=0 |
Very glad I was one of the 2 that got a TM 1911... did you put those 2 precious drops of oil before ur first mag fill to lube up everything? Could be the pin needs some oil as well, remove the slide, drop some in, then work the trigger for 15-20 racks, then try.
|
For some wacky reason the gun seems to work without any problems...... The airsoft gods have a sense of humor i guess. Thanks for the help regardless everyone, especially to Saint for finding that link :).
@ Renegade, can your 1911 empty a whole mag on one charge of gas? The reason I've been avoiding the TM 1911s like the plague is due to many reports of it having too small a gas resivoir. |
I havnt tried a full mag yet, but I have fired quite a few shots then reload on just the one fill. I will try a full one today and let you know man.
|
I have the TM 1911 and i can fire the hole mag off with one fill of gas and theres still gas left in the mag.
|
Just fired off entire mag full, and then some, still got some left for storage.

Sigh I love my TM 1911 but I can't get a full mag out of BBs out of it, maybe 20-22 if I'm lucky. :( Happens with all 5 of my TM 1911 mags, dunno why even stock it was like that.

WE M1911
The Good - My WE gets around 1.5 - 2 mags of BBs off.
The Bad - No Trades The Ugly - Orange tip :'( Anyone know if TM slides/barrels are compatible with WE? I want to swap out the slide and barrel. |
hah, my orange tip on my TM is already gone :) light sanded it off, and gonna touch it up with some paint later just for looks. I plan to go metal kit sometime over the winter.
|
My orange tip isn't painted on. It's actually a little cylinder glued on to the end of the barrel. The barrel is kinda ugly anyways.
So ya, anyone know about the compatibility issues? |
