Out of curiosity...

How much time and money have you guys spent on your airsoft projects? I see guys getting out and selling off their customized, pimped out, upgraded, sometimes even assembled from spare parts, airsoft guns. I'm quickly noticing that this is a sport that you dedicate a hell of-a-lot to and sometimes its not just time and money.

I've yet to really touch the internals of my stuff. I'm thinking of getting what I want first then what I need to run them (battery + charger), then accessorise them later, then worry about upgrades last. I've already spent close to $2k on this sport and its only really been a little over 2 months. I'm thinking I'll invest after January, another $1k over 3 months getting all the proper gear and getting everything in working order.

more than 6000$
I stopped counting.

My maruzen kg9 has around $1500-2000 into it now. My asahi m249 will have around $2500 when I am done with it. My vsr has around $1000.

KND November 29th, 2008 10:04

oh ! I spend somehow around Fox as well so stop counting from that time.

Redneck Jimbo November 29th, 2008 11:01

Iv spent about 3500-4000 on guns and upgrades alone and haven't played a single game yet!
I am planning on making my first game some time in the early spring but not before spending an nether 2000-3000 on kit and customising my guns. Then probably 3000 to 5000 on seeking out an Inokatsu M60E3 and other guns and upgrades, and it wont end thare.

Kusco November 29th, 2008 11:12

I have only gone to one game and that was with a rental, so that dosent count.

But after that I invested about $2000 into my 3 AEG's.
(real sword type 56, KWA m4s, JG416)

I have yet to do any upgrades to them yet and I am actually planning on going the same route that your taking.

I am currently in the process in buying my gear + accesories.
I am approximating that this will run around another 1000$ ( I have already spent about 300$ ordering BDU + vest + helm for winter games + radio )

As for upgrading my gun I have left that last, I dont think this step should be rushed.
IMO for a begginer like ourselves is not to rush into this part and intime and practice we can jump into this step.

But i am planning to buy a kraken or cheap similar gun and play around the gearbox. Will take it apart and put it back together for learning platform.

(although it's a v3 mechbox I am hoping that I will still be able to gain something from this in the end.)
Then once I establish somewhat of a foundation. I will begin to modify my AEG's.

Basically I am somewhat on the same boat as you and I have already put in at least $2500

KND November 29th, 2008 11:25

huh ! my girlfriend always complain me how much I spend on my hobby.

Why don't just everyone list what you spend this whole year to see the total, just list on what you have in hand right now. Here is mine :

-PTW M4A1 CQB-R 2008 2500 $ with lots of accessories
-Real Sword Type 56 900 $
-G&P USMC SAM-R 1000 $
-CYMA AKS-74 U 400 $
-KSC Glock 19 400 $ with upgrade
-KSC Glock 17 300 $ not include upgrade that place on Redwolf yet
-USP.45 Full Size 450 $ with upgrade
-TM 1911A1 Spriner 90 $
-Multicam genuine gear cost me about 600 $ in total

The total is not include my old load out yet and a lots of gear that I didn't use at all.

How about your ?

My SG550 alone is sitting at $850, and I haven't even started working on the internals. I figure it will be at $1100 by Christmas.

Sigh. I have a Sportline with $500 worth of internals.

L473ncy November 29th, 2008 12:09

5 months in and it's already adding up to ~$800+

AEG $450
Sidearm $190
Mask $45
BDU's ~$60 (but I've had them for a while so technically they don't count)
Springers ~$200 (Getting another one come Christmastime)
BB's (none yet, I borrowed last time) BUT I'm going to do a purchase of ~$100 worth of BB's

warbird November 29th, 2008 12:27

I lost count, and don't really want to know. I have German+webbing, Black Spec Ops kit, Desert BDUs and pouches and complete Cadpat kit. I rarely use any of the kit except the Cadpat one. The Cadpat kit alone is ~$600. That's without guns and bbs...

And I don't work:(

That makes my wallet hurt just thinking about it.

Nothing funnier than getting better ROF and Accuracy than a PTW on a plastic gun... xD

Mind you. I jest about it being a PoS. But I do like that gun. Needs more metal. Next Upgrade... Next $250...

Same here. It's like putting Angus beef in a White Castle bun.

Strelok November 29th, 2008 13:06
