Which Gear Set to Get

Can the Systema Helical High Speed Gear Set handle a Prometheus MS110SP Spring or should I just get the Prometheus Double Torque Hard Gear Set that's made for my spring? I want to have a high ROF though, will the Prometheus gear set give me that like the Systema gear set would?

I wouldn't recommend it.

Using a high speed gear set with a spring that strong will put a lot of stress on your motor and battery.

Prometheus Double Torque is equivalent to the Systema Torque Up. Prometheus is built a bit better - if you can afford it, get the Prometheus instead.

The Prometheus High Speed gear set is the equivalent to Systema's High Speed gear set.

If you must have high ROF, you're better off getting an Eagle Force 1300L Hummer motor or the Systema Magnum motor to match the Prometheus double/Systema torque up gear set with that spring.

Cool, thanks for the input.

So I guess I shouldn't get a Systema Turbo Motor either then and just get the Magnum, right?

right

What about the bushings? Should I get bushings with bearing or just plain old metal bushings? I'm going to be upgrading to a Systema M120S spring soon.

plain, good quality solid metal bushings.

oil-channel...double oil channel...hardended...stainless steel...lots of options.

I just use Modify SS bushings...they work fine.

Ask Jugglez at airsoftparts.ca...he usually has them in stock.

Cool, thanks!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Because aren't metal bushings with bearings meant for higher ROF and M100 or lower springs?

Styrak January 23rd, 2009 11:49

Yes, bearing bushings are meant for lower FPS, higher ROF setups. Personally I would never use them at all.

I also sell solid metal bushings :D

Good to know! :)

I agree with advices above.
If you get Systema helical high speed gear + turbo motor, get a 1 joule spring.

Hummer 1300L motor are a bit tricky though. I bought 3 in the past years , all nib and got issues with all of them, so i wont recommend them.

Get a Modify 100 spring, should set you around 360-370fps, and also is a softer spring as far as compressability goes, so it'll net you a higher rate of fire without struggling in a mildly upgraded gun. Also, in a V2 mechbox (no idea what you own), higher rate of fire with a heavier spring is more correctly called "Higher rate of wear" for a lot of the internal parts as well as the mechbox shell if a V2.
