What BB's are legal for BWIII?

I have a container of approximately 12,000 cybergun .12gr(don't laugh yet) ultrasonic BB's that have been waiting for action. Am I able to use these at Border Wars(in my own gun of course)? Or should I get rid of them?

For those that don't know what the ultrasonic BB's are, they look like this:

Any expert's input?

well, before you go to a HUGE MILSIM with HUNDREDS of people, you should really go to a small game first and see what its REALLY like.

sure, you can use your .12 ULTRA SONIC UBER BBs, but other people will outrange you by a huge margin. It's not a backyard airsoft with 30 feet engagement range.

Well, do you want to shoot them, or grab a handful and toss 'em?

theshaneler February 17th, 2009 00:52

there is also the issue of BB quality, im not sure how that brand ranks, but most .12s are prone to shattering which is no good!

I would only use them in my hand nade. Get yourself .25 quality BB's.

that's your answer right there, what do you think?

Ktown Militia February 17th, 2009 00:57

I say buy a bag of bb bastard or metal tech .20 or .25g brand name bb's and then shoot your green globs. You will see the difference immediatly, and why the general poulation of airsoft uses the higher grade bb's over crapsoft for competiton or gaming.

cheers! :D

the question comes down to whether you actually want to win or not

Armyissue February 17th, 2009 01:09

my team mate said it best. "If you shoot .12's put the goggles on the back of your head":

Dude If you're asking if .12 are good for BWIII, Fly to Tdot spend your bank roll on hot women and hot meals then go home and tell the boys about the wicked time you had in the Big City. Really, Go play with the boys on the Ferry and play some local games. This will turn into an Epic Fail Guy thread.
Cheers

Oh and change your avatar, thats Madmax's and it's just not cool.

Don't get me wrong, I have been in airsoft games with 4-5 people before, and they weren't exactly "backyard battles".

I guess I should have mentioned The BB's in question aren't just Wal-Mart 2-for-1 specials, they are made of a lighter plastic than regular .12gr's, which means the BB is actually slightly bigger which produces a higher velocity by having a better fit in the barrel. Sure, they may not have accuracy that .20gr's have, but they would be better in a CQB firefight having more velocity am I right? I am still going to putchase some .20gr's, I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be breaking the rules by having these.

Oh, and I'll change the avatar, I must have saved it a couple weeks ago when I was perusing the site and forgot where it was from.

Your BB's will not fly straight enough to hit some one, They'll jam your gun and destroy your hop-up rubber and inner barrel.

Buy some bastards.

Play a serious game in BC before you even start thinking about going to BWIII.

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw February 17th, 2009 03:16

As a rule of thumb, you dont necessarily want more velocity in CQB. Velocity should never take paramount to accuracy and range. Whats the point of having 400+ FPS when you shots will never make your intended target?

Will you break any rules by using them? I dont believe so. Is it wise to be using them? Most will say no. Heed our warnings when we say forget them.

Aren't you borrowing a gun?

I would be angry (Read: LEGITIMATELY ANGRY) if I borrowed a gun to some one and then they ran .12 BB's through it.

If I do end up borrowing a gun, the .12's stay at home. However, it's looking like I might not need to, as it's looking like I might be able to afford a JG M4. I've been looking them up online as wel as youtube review/reviews here, and it might be my option.

point is, .12 will fuck up any gun worth gaming.
