is WE 1911 any good?

I seem to remember people saying to never buy WE, or am I mistaken?

Also what would be a good price for this used? (if it is worth anything)

Thanks

i had very few problems with my WE 1911 classic. only problem i really had was that the slide would not lock back with the mag was empty, or would lock when their was still rounds left in the mags, other then that, the gun worked flawless, great range and distance out of the box on propane

the old WE 1911s had some design flaws, but I have one of the newer ones and its quite good, 200+ is the usual price for used

How does WE compare to KJ?

i used to have one and it worked great, now its my friends and i miss it soo much

edit- there were not problems with it at all

i dont know about KJ 1911s, but i had a KJW hicapa, and it was fine for a while, then it fell apart

My WE 1911 is a piece of shit. Its destroyed 3 slides already running on propane and thets after I've replaced alomst all the parts. Maybe mine was just a lemon, but I would never recommend them to anyone.

I've had a broken brushing and mag release. Not TM compatible means its a bitch finding aftermarket parts, hell even replacement parts are hard to find.

I have a KJ P.14, essentailly a double-stack 1911. It doesn't work anymore (some parts are broken and I can't find replacements), but when it was running it worked awesome.

the older WE 1911s seemed to have a problem with their spring guides being too long, therefore they would punch out the spring plug and barrel bushing, rendering the gun useless and incredibly hard to fix, but the newer ones have fixed that problem, and mine runs quite well

I replaced the spring guide with a new one after the first blowout, still didn't stop it from happening.

grind about 2 mm off of the tip

No.

Their -ok- for the price. Ive had one and it worked fine for me, had it for about4-5 months or so, and the times I gamed it, worked fine. Others have had problems with them (as already stated above). So if you get one, you should pretty much expect it to fail, if it does you wont be let down and if it doesn't then you lucked out.

Also don't mention who has what for sale please. Especially here in the Newbie Tank. Edit your post to take out that info please. You can vaguely mention it, but dont add specifics like whos it is. To the person it was directed to, make sure only AV people PM you about it.

this is one of the reasons where buying second hand is a plus! If it worked fine for the first owner, its not a lemon, so there should be no problems xD
