Attack of the Chinese clones.
Not sure if this is related to recent reports I've heard about gun seizing in China, but interesting read.
"Shenzhen Customs officers destroy replica guns in the warehouse of its Huizhou anti-smuggling office Thursday. About 2,790 guns and 1,500 kilograms of spare parts were destroyed, Customs officials said Friday. The popularity of field warfare games has contributed to increased demand for replica guns in the domestic market, which has led to an increase in replica gun smuggling cases, officials said. The guns resemble the real thing in color, weight, size and quality, and as such can be used by criminals to threaten victims in robberies and muggings. So far nearly 12,000 smuggled replica guns and spare parts have been seized by the Customs this year.Li Hao" http://szdaily.sznews.com/html/2009-...ent_794341.htm |
all those poor Dboys, Cymas and Jing Gongs :(
I'll pour a bit of my 40 out for you all tonight |
No kidding, I'd gladly give them say $1,000 or so, to 'dispose' of them myself.
Rent a U-Haul and I'm golden. |
Fuck,Lets just hope it's one of those crackdowns that don't last.
I'm not worried about the clones too much but they do keep the market price down a little, Also the parts thing sucks too. |
The pain! UGHHH!
|
nah it wont last, the just needed some publicity to show how much guns they're destroying, nothing more, production will resume next month, just like drugs
|
psshhh their all china clones :)
|
If anything, they're still making money, they'll stop it this time and let it go.
Money makes the world go round.. |
Shenzhen is turning into a wild west, and cops aren't taking any chances anymore. There has been a string of contract, professional hits/assassinations in the past couple months with firearms used. The use of firearms is pretty unprecedented and the police responses appear to be reciprocal.
Whether production will or won't resume as quickly as ASC's optimists predict is murky, particularly if most of the manufacturing or distribution nodes are in Shenzhen. |
The destruction of smuggled guns clearly tells me that the clone companies may not be able to start up again.... a real shame for airsoft. Looks like the sport is going to get real expensive again... oh well, I got all the guns i need now.

China clones gone? I won't shed a tear. They lived to service ass-backwards-governed countries like Canada, the rest of the world has better access to better stuff. |
Over 2790 chinese clones destroyed?!
HURRAY! That's 2790 less problem guns I'd have to work on! |

I do wonder if this will completely destroy the Clone market, and only bigger companies will remain or what's to happen. |
Probably not, it's most likely the same situation that happens in Pacific Mall in Scarborough with DVD's. Every year a few dvd pirate stores get raided, and every year there are new ones that take their spot.
If anything, I think those dvd places call the police themselves, to get rid of extra non-selling stock. |
