New a&k acr!!!

Because of the recent post by RacingManiac concerning the Masada, i surfed the net looking fool cool masada/ACR images for my wallpaper and i came across.... A NEW A&K ACR MODEL AND AN 18INCH SPR!!!!!!! It doesn't have the updated forward charging handle but it does have the new ACR RIS. Check it out. I'm literally pissing my pants right now.

Unfortunately that's from last August. In more recent news, reports out of China would have us believe A&K has shut down its operation.

RIP the ACR that never was.

Aw well. Too bad.. the masada was just licensed by PTS too. :( I'll just wait for the PTS version.

Seems that A&K's version was just licensed by PTS as the "Magpul PTS Masada Sportline" to complete their own, more recent and sophisticated, Magpul PTS ACR.

This info has been published after reports from the A&K offices been raided, which are indeed conflicting, so...

The guy on Arnies who gave the info, later somehow confirmed by Paul over at EBB seems to think the the CNC RAS and PRS (SPR) stock should be availble under license for A&K's Masada Sportline before christmas.

It has some flaws, notably the range OTTB, but it's overall a very nice gun ;)

Well it looks like the A&K Magpul Masada finally hit the shops after all, it just got announced on eHobby

It appears to be a copy of the earlier Magpul Masada design rather than the newest military version ACR by Remington MPD. Those who prefer the Magpul MOE -style handguard over Remington's RAS will be pleased. No UBR style stock however.

Original (real steel) Masada:

Current Remington version for comparison:

Ya i noticed like 30 an hour ago. I was like SWEET. but then though....."gonna wait for the PTS version" :D

Drake November 5th, 2009 13:20

Given how slow Magpul is to put out products and the fact this is an officially licensed version, I wouldn't hold my breath for a PTS version.

If anything, I'd hope someone licenses the new ACR from Remington.

considering its Chinasoft the whole mechbox probably needs a once over. Swapping out the spring isn't a biggy. Besides, TM guns shot 300fps stock :P

It's just the A&K with PTS license over it, so externals are really good (not perfect, but still good quality material and nothing visuallt shitty) while internals are OK. It has quite a good ROF with a 7.2v LiPo, but it's still a chinese gun which would need regrease and reshim.

I just hope they also release the SPR kit and CNC RAS they had announced for the A&K, because I need them for mine.

According to a guy on Arnies, PTS will also release their own in-house *ACR* version, complete with swappable stocks, barrel kits, lowers and a GBB drop-in kit :)

I still highly doubt that china clones will be gone...
Usually in china, bribes easily do the job, if not, they get a slap on the wrist, and just have to bribe higher-ups for more green.
This time, I think they needed to do something that will make the chinese equivalent of soccer moms stfu.
Chinaclones will be back.... most likely.

It isn't crap at all. I don't know what would be a retailer's price in Canada, but I personally think it's worth it.

The plastic is good quality, the metal upper is very solid and has a good feeling.

The only thing bothering me with it is opening the gearbox, as it means that you have to remove the ambidextrious selector gears (installed between the mechbox and the receiver. These are a pain in the ass. Other than that, it's running very well, and the transparent hopup is really useful to check if you've got BBs left without spilling 4 or 5 on the ground.

The quick barrel change system is also very well designed.

iggim109 November 7th, 2009 18:48

can't wait until this comes to canada. Also i can't believe the price in USD as well $200.00!!???. So if this comes over to canada it would double the price doesn't it???

Conker November 7th, 2009 18:50

Usually, for chinese guns it's 2x-2.5x the HK price, but since it's a Masada, and it's Magpul, it might have a "popularity markup".

But wait 'n see! It shouldn't be that long.
