You are correct, to have replica guns in Canada you need to have a clear receiver or lower frame for pistols; the clear part differs from rifle to another. Example, M4 series it's the lower receiver while the MP5/G36 series it is the upper receiver.

Since you mention Montreal I'd like to mention that although the laws are uniform across the country Quebec tends to be harder on airsoft gun imports. I know this because I am a local airsoft shop in Montreal and dealing with the customs here is more than a hassle.

I'd also like to take my hat off to your customer service; as a consumer I would of loved dealing with a merchant like you who looks out for tourists.
