With my collapsible stocks I've always simply gone for comfort and ease of use. Shouldering the gun should be comfortable and natural, you can also fully collapse the stock for Close Quarters to gain maneuverability.

Eye Relief has to do with having a clear sight picture without straining to focus to close.
