If you really want to recycle your BB's, use shopping/garbage bags crumpled.
Currently, I'm using a shoe box stuffed full of shopping bags. A lot but not crammed so full that it can't compress under the force of a bb. Basically just absorbs the bb and because of the numerous folds of bag, they stay put or 'trapped'. When the face gets completely eaten away, I just keep shooting into the bags. I got a few thousand rounds in the current box.
