They may have changed the rear sight for the 2011 Sopmods who knows and yes it doesnt come with a red dot sight, ive ran a Sopmod for a year now and a buddy has run the Sr16 both identical internals and definitaly high quality.
When researching these rifles a year ago there was very confusing and contradicting info, grab a VFC from a local dealer youl be getting a great product internaly and externaly not one failure or even external scratches with regular play
