This is something to try for sure. The only problem I have with putty, with rifles (more powerfull than pistol), is that some bb's stick deeply into the putty, and after 5-6 mags +/- 150 bb's, it makes a bb's plastic wall that make rebound out of the trap. So need to clean the putty each 2-3 mags to avoid rebound on jammed bb's. Maybe a piece of cloth will work. At the base, the putty is made for stopping 4.5mm metal bb's.
