Here is what I am talking about, unfortunately this is not a high res photo.

The photo is from Wikipedia http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../92/HK416N.png

You will notice that the trades on the side are different from the US "416D" ("D" standing for "Defense") The "D" was used as far as I know to denote the H&K US version. The German version has different markings.
