I've been following the development of the SMG8 on Asian forums and it sounds like there may be body kits available to convert this into a proper MP7. Even if WE does not come out with it I would not be surprised if an aftermarket firm like RA-Tech develops one.
Another alternative may be for them to release an unofficial MP7 variant of the gun without WE branding similar to what they did with the license variant of their Glocks.
