It's 5.45mm not 5.54mm 5.45x39. Looks like M16 round. Large shell and really tiny bullet. Blanks are dangerous to people. Not a closed shell. 5.45 has white plastic bullet hollow inside that can make a hole in a thick jacket if fired at close range. That's why you never see anything on AK barrels during training. They fire actual bullets that burn up and melt within 5m of the barrel.
I think he saw long more curved mag and figured it was 7.62. Not like I ever saw bekalite 7.62 45 rounder.
