One day my friend came to our little 5 man skirmish with some home-made landmines... they were so simple and crude, but we were surprised on how well they worked as either following the rules of a landmine or just as warning devises on giving away your oh-so stealthy advance.
They are easy to make and cost under $5 a piece, maybe less
all you need is
-mousetrap
-small nails
-cap gun caps
-fishing line
-scotch tape
(additionally i carry around scissors)
sorry for the bluriness on the pictures, its a weird camera
They may be effective but they are a pain to set up sometimes, as they are very sensitive, and take some time to set up in the field

drill a hole through the trap that lines up with the "trigger" and thread a string through that, tie onto the trigger.
then nail four or so nails into the top edge, and then bend them to line up with the swinging bar.
I wrapped the top end with electrical tape to keep the wood from splintering, and nailed two more nails into the bottom edge so it can be stuck into the ground.
Then when out in the field just place 4 caps overtop of the nails, and tape them in place, set up your trip line, then set the trap. its quite sensitve and actually quite loud and was shocked at the small cloud of smoke that came from the caps.
so whenever your driving to your next event and realize you forgot your mines, just drop by a hardware store or dollar store and build one of these in 10 minutes
