Part Importation and the PAL
Hey guys I'm kind of in a bind right now.
I recently made a trip to Asia and had the opportunity to hit up a lot of airsoft stores in Japan and Hong Kong. I picked up a lot of PARTS for myself and a few friends. I was bringing them back via my baggage (which I must say was pretty stupid, but I didn't have time on my last leg of the trip to do any shipping) and they were all seized when I landed in Toronto. Since then I have received a notice stating that they are all free to go and being released as they are all legal parts for importation. I called in to the Queen's warehouse at Pearson Airport and spoke with someone there. He stated that I require a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL). I believe he said that the items are restricted items, which I find hard to believe as you can buy most if not all these items from places like Huang's store or Jugglez's website. I mainly have a lot of pistol mags, some barrels, grips and slides and some other junk.
What I'd like to know is if this is 100% true, because as far as I know, I've been able to import these same parts via shipping them without any issues in the past. I don't want to have to wait 3 months for them to send me my PAL license (as I've read some of you people had to wait a long time). I would like to be able to use my parts for this season o_0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Jaaks
