Buttstock Switch
Recently ive seen buttstock and hangaurd switches while looking on redwolf. what exatly do they do?

It's the switch which runs the gun. They're for either front or rear battery applications.
You pull trigger, trigger closes switch, gun fires. All AEG's have them in the same basic form.

The switch itself is located inside the gearbox. As mcguyver mentioned, the buttstock/handguard difference is in where the battery is place in the gun.
