Are long mounting rails universal?

I have a TM G3-SG1 , it didn't come with a bipod , the only bipod i have found so far a from CA , 59,99$ though it'll be too heavy kind of.

I'm wondering, if i can just buy a M16 (because they offer long rails) very long rail and screw it tight on the G3-SG1 handguard ?? This way won't have to buy a rail system for like 150$.
