WE m4 - Bolt dont lock back

Hi,

I'm sorry if this problem has been already asked but I can't find any post regarding this.
I have a WE m4 and the bolt dont lock back when there is no mags inserted. Same thing happen when there is no more bbs in the mag.

Without a mag in, you have to manually lock the bolt back with the bolt catch. That's how it works.

If you have a mag without BBs, then it should lock back. First, check to make sure that the little switch on the mag itself to disable the bolt catch (made so you can dry fire) is not engaged. If it isn't and it still won't lock back, then your bolt catch is worn.

I guess its worn... its strange, because I actualy have 2 new WE m4 and both have this problem ...

Are you sure its not because you have the mags set on dry fire mode? Where they are intended not to lockback on an empty mag.

I have the same problem on my WE M4. My mags are all set to bolt-stop function, yet 1/3 of them lock back the bolt on the last shot.

The fix by gluing a an added piece seems really flimsy and likely to fall off.

BTW, I have an other problem, when I fire in semi automatic mode, it shoots more than one bb. Do you guys know why ?

Try jbweld instead, it's better then a glued piece of plastic, and its acts like Epoxy putty, so you can sand it!

This extra bit of metal pushes up against the wall of the upper and keeps the bolt catch from engaging fully. Only 1mm of the bolt catch face catches the bolt, eroding and smoothing the edge away.



I grinded the extra bit of this off and now the extra spacing inside the receiver allows the catch to engage fully.

Hey Qlong, how does grinding that tab help the bolt catch the bolt carrier? Isnt it the small vertical tab on the right that blocks the bolt from coming forward? The only thing I can think the effect of sanding that tab is that the bolt catch can push more on the upper receiver.

Shouldnt the vertical tab that actually comes in contact with the edge of the bolt be longer so that it has more contact with the bolt?? Right now, theres only a few millimeters that contacts the bolt

I know this may sound like a newbie question, but can u remove the brass chamber/inner barrel without taking out the delta ring/outer barrel assembly?

No, you have to remove the delta ring, it can be a pain sometimes, I know, especially if you have a stock upper.

hey qlong, do u have any good suggestions on which steel ambi fire selector and anti rotational pins to get? I saw the TSC ambi selector but it looks kinda ugly.
