I'm thinking of getting a P226.. I've got some questions.
Hello, I'm thinking of picking up a P226 and customizing it to be Uniqe.
I was wondering if there's anything similar to the "CQB Standoff" made by The Arms Room for the Glock line, but for the p226... Aswell... What other asthetic modifications can be made to the 226? (I'm aware Asthetic mods come later, but I don't need any help with internals.) And I'm also aware I'm not "Legal" for airsoft yet, But I'm giving myself a long time to scrape the money to buy the upgrades, so when I can legaly buy the gun, all I'll have to do is install the modifications, and I'm good to go. (Please note that I am a responsible "kid" who's been shooting for some time... So please don't disreguard my questions due to my age.) |

Not so much compact, but it is $49.00 so it IS less than $50.00 lol. It is a tad bit large, but will fit on the strike kit.

TM makes a good GBB P226?
Haha. I've been told by everyone "SWEAR BY KSC" but.. I'm open to other options :XD I'm going to total everything up now.. And make a list of what I need to buy.. (Possibly try to get some of it used) Thanks very much for your help.. And If you've got any more advice on upgrading the p226 (I'm thinking I want to try to get.. As much "Metal" parts onto the p226 as I can.. I.e. metal slide, metal frame.. Ect. If you've got a site that's good for it please tell me.), hell or even advice on upgrading my TM M16 VN. I'd love to hear from you. God... How much of a dent is this going to make in my pocket.. :XD Oh well. It's worth it in the end. |

i have a tm p226..... well it was at least before i got my hands on it. it is a great gbb even in stock form but i went all out and did a full metal guarder (slide and frame) kit for it, now i would toss it up against any ksc any time. i liked it stock form but it did feel a bit plasticy and that bugged me so i got the kit. your right that after the gun, a couple of mags, and a full metal kit, plus any other accessories you want your gonna be paying a hefty price for your gbb. i know mine isnt even finished, still want a couple more accessories and im already well over $500 on it.
if you do go full metal i would recomend the guarder kit since its a good price, and gives you great functionality. it can be a pain to fit, and i would only suggest it if your handy and have a metal file on hand. it took me nearly 9 hours to install it and get it functional. also be careful when taking the gbb apart as it is tricky as hell, dont rush it in any way and take a ton of pics. im glad to see that you know you are too young to play and are not attacking the rules and are willing to wait your turn. i think it says alot and when you do get to play you will be ready and well researched for it.

Allright... I've been doing some looking around... And Comparing the TM P226 with the KJ p226 Full metal + Markings... And It seems that for my set up, the KJ one will save me ALOT of extra dough... I was planning on getting a full metal kit with the markings.. and from what I see it's much more ex*****ve to get the TM gun, and the metal upgrade kit..
Is there a reason I should get the TM over the KJ gun? (Sorry about all the dumb questions... I just want to know what I'm doing before I drop all my hard-earned money on something.) |

The KJ gun has a few quirks you need to fix before the gun can run properly.
Stock recoil spring is way to weak. Stock loading nozzle is made of shit plastic - the small nub sticking out is prone to breaking. Constant lubing must be applied before field use (more than any other gun I know). If not lubed constantly jamming will occur. |

Okay.
Thank you very much. I'm going to go with the Marui one, and the metal body kit... Is there a website (perferably canadian) that I'd beable to check out a good, fairly priced full metal body kit for the p226? |

ASCA. Has really good prices... you can ask them to order whatever part you need in.
But you'd need to be age verified. Or go to Anderson & Anderson Airsoft, link up above in Canadian retailers. |

The problem with me ordering just parts off of ASCA is that I'm not age verified, and unable to age verified (17). I was planning on ordering all the parts I need, reading up on it so that when I'm well versed and knowledgeable when I become legal. (Hope to be on the feild with you guys next year.)
As for upgrades for the p226, What internals would you suggest? |

well i havent done too much to mine, but high flow valves are nice... also if your going full metal a 150% spring is critical, though i left my hammer spring stock as opposed to using the 150%. it means i have a lighter trigger pull and i find for me that just works better. generally though i havent done much with my gbb internals (they can be a real bitch to work on) and having used it as i have i feel no need to work on it until something breaks and i am forced to. it was a pain to take apart to do the full metal upgrade and i dont want to have to do it again unless i absolutely have to. honestly i wouldnt worry too much about ordering now and waiting till your legal. just wait till your legal and order then, the reason being that ASCA's prices for the metal kit are alot better than any other retailer in canada as far as i found, and ordering direct from asia i think is a bit risky so i dont bother with that.
