I don't think its ducttape, looks more like hockey stick tape.

I used some gaffers tape. It's similar to hockey tape because it's also has a cloth substrate.

Here's a quick video of the spoon kit in operation. No BBs loaded in the grenade, obviously. Also not high-grade, but good enough to get the idea.
