Thread CCW or CW
Hey everyone, when telling if your flash hider is CCW, or CW, where do i look from? From the Back its CCW, but if i look from the front, it appears CW. This is a Kalash AKS-74u.
Thanks in advance |

If it loosens to the left, it's Clockwise
If it loosens to the right, it's Anti-clockwise |

![]() Positive threading (CW thread-on) is normal threading, for screws and most normal stuff like bottle tops. Negative threading (CCW thread-on) is opposite of what you would call regular, or positive threading. |

Still kind of Confused. When i look at the Barrel towards me, it loosens to the left. But when i look stock facing me, it loosens to the left.

If you're directly facing the barrel- if it loosens when turning clockwise, that means that turning COUNTERCLOCKWISE will tighten it. If you're directly facing the barrel- if it loosens when turning counterclockwise, that means that turning CLOCKWISE will tighten it. I think thats how it goes, correct me if im wrong |

Depends on what you're doing with your hands too I guess. Just go with my advice and look straight on, down the barrel, like you would normally screw something on.

So just to make sure, If im looking straight on, and loosening. A Cw motion would indicate i need a CCW suppressor.

Dont think of it in terms of LOOSENING.. think of it in terms of TIGHTENING.. All suppressors/silencers and flash hiders are listed as CCW or CW. This refers to how they are screwed on the barrel.. So a CCW flash hider means that it screws on by turning it CCW.

Just get a QD suppressor, goes on either way with out having to screw anything off.
Edit: Its for a AKS-74UN so No QD ![]() |

If it's a Kalash AKS-74u, you're going to get a Counter Clock Wise surpressor.
