Protecting Eotech 3x Magnifier
I'm thinking of getting a RS Eotech 3x magnifier sometime down the line and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to protect both sides of the lens. I've done some searching, but have come up empty.
One idea was using a PVS-14 sac lens, but I'm not sure if the diameters are the same.

Cool, but I don't think that will fit. The area is quite shallow.

Aimpoint ARD's can be fitted into the front of the magnifier. Takes a little effort, but it does work.

Should have asked you first lol.
I'll keep the ARD as a backup. I'm more interested in a clear lens protector. Do you think this can fit on top? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/665...ack?cm_vc=OBv1

Just msg Qlong, he will build you a custom one out of Polycarbonate.

not sure if this is what you're looking for, or a cover for the actual magnifier.....
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gunsmodif...dot-sight.html If all you need is a round lens cover, buy a sheet of lexan at home depot, draw a circle, and three minutes with a bench grinder and you'll be set. A few dabs of silicone will hold it in place forever. |

I'll probably end up doing that if I can't find any other solutions.

I run a piece of polycarbonate in front of my magnified scope.. probably won't stop a close up hit, but will probably slow it down enough that it won't do much to the actual glass.
Just be aware though, in high moisture environments that space between the poly carb and the lens will fog up. Some anti fog might help, I didn't get a chance to try.

The shields won't help too much since my primary concern is when the magnifier is flipped onto its side.
